Penrith Pergolas & Patios grew out of a simple local reality: Western Sydney gets hot, and a bare backyard is unusable through a 40C afternoon. For more than twelve years we have been building outdoor structures across the Nepean, from insulated patios that make a courtyard bearable in January to timber pergolas that filter the light over an entertaining area. We have worked on established homes in Penrith, St Marys and Emu Plains, new-build alfresco areas in growth estates like Jordan Springs and Ropes Crossing, and large freestanding structures on the acreage blocks around Llandilo, Mulgoa and Castlereagh. That range has taught us how differently each block behaves, from tight fenced yards to open rural fringe. We build to good practice, engineered and wind-rated where the structure requires it, and we arrange council or certifier approval when it is needed. Every job starts with a free on-site visit so the design suits your home, your slab and the way you want to use the space.

Steve Smith leads every build hands-on. With more than twelve years designing and constructing pergolas, patios and outdoor living areas across Penrith and Western Sydney, Steve has fixed structures to just about every home type in the region, from older brick homes in St Marys to new estate builds in Jordan Springs. He is on-site through the key stages, from setting out the footings to finishing the roof, so the person who quotes your job is the person who stands behind it.

Our own experienced team handles the build from start to finish, rather than passing your job to a rotating crew of subcontractors. We keep the same faces on your project so the standard stays consistent from footings to final clean-up. Everyone works to the same approach: set out carefully, fix to the house correctly, and leave the site tidy. When a structure calls for an engineer's certification or a certifier's sign-off, we coordinate it so the paperwork keeps pace with the build.

Credentials & Certifications

We are fully insured, carrying $20 million in public liability cover. Our structures are built to good practice and to the relevant wind rating for the NSW wind region, engineered and council or certifier approved where the size or attachment requires it. We work with our own experienced team rather than farming the job out, and we arrange the engineering and approval pathway where needed so your patio or pergola is signed off correctly. We do not guarantee an approval outcome, because the certifier or council makes that call, but we handle the process for you.
