Want height, airflow and a premium look over your outdoor area? A gable roof patio peaks to a central apex, letting heat rise and escape, a genuine advantage through Penrith's fierce summers. Built in Colorbond or insulated panel.
Need shade without a bulky roofline? A flat roof patio sits low with a slight fall for drainage, the simple, budget-friendly cover that slips neatly under your eaves. Built in Colorbond or insulated panel for real heat control.
Want a modern line and quick drainage? A skillion roof patio runs a single slope from high side to low, shedding water fast and tucking under your eaves. Built in Colorbond or insulated panel for Penrith heat.
Want an outdoor area that looks different? A dome roof patio curves gently for a soft, feature silhouette that lifts the back of your home. Built in curved Colorbond or aluminium, sized to your block and our heat.
Insulated sandwich-panel patio roofs cut the radiant heat and rain noise a single-skin roof lets through, making your covered area genuinely usable through a Penrith summer. Attached or freestanding, built and fixed to the right wind rating.
Adjustable louvre and opening roofs let you open for sun and breeze, then close against Penrith heat or rain. Manual or motorised, aluminium-framed and built to the right wind rating. Honest on rain-seal limits.
Cafe blinds and Zipscreen-style outdoor blinds enclose your patio against wind, sun and light rain, so you use it more of the year. Manual or motorised, clear PVC or mesh. Not a sealed enclosure.
We help you work out whether your patio or pergola is exempt, needs a CDC, or needs a DA under the NSW Codes SEPP, and can arrange approval and engineering. The certifier or council decides.
Penrith Pergolas & Patios designs and builds pergolas, patios, verandahs and carports across Penrith and Western Sydney, with a focus on shade and outdoor living that stands up to the region's extreme summer heat.

We start with a free visit to your home to measure the space, check how the structure will attach and talk through how you want to use the area. You get an itemised quote and a design that suits your block, your budget and Penrith's heat, whether that points to an insulated roof, a louvre system or an open pergola. We also advise on the likely approval pathway, whether your structure may be exempt, need a CDC or need a full DA. The certifier or council makes the final call, but we guide you through it and arrange the paperwork and any engineering.

Once the design and any approval are sorted, our own team gets to work. We set out and pour or install the footings, stand the posts and fix the beams and rafters, attaching to the house fascia or wall correctly where the structure is attached. The frame is built to the relevant wind rating for the region and to manufacturer span tables or an engineer's details where required. Then we install your chosen roof, from single-skin Colorbond to an insulated panel or an opening roof system.

With the structure up, we complete the finishing details, add any cafe blinds or Zipscreen enclosures you have chosen, and check every fixing. We tidy the site fully and remove our offcuts and rubbish so you are left with a usable space, not a mess to clear. We walk you through the finished build and how to look after it, including the honest maintenance timber needs over the years. Then your backyard is ready to use through the next Western Sydney summer.
Yes, we advise on the approval pathway and can arrange it for you. Depending on the size, height, setbacks and your location, your patio or pergola may be exempt from approval, need a Complying Development Certificate, or need a full Development Application. Most of our area is under Penrith City Council, while Blaxland and Warrimoo sit in Blue Mountains City Council, where bushfire-prone land can change what is allowed. We coordinate the approval and any required engineering, but the certifier or council makes the final decision, so we cannot guarantee an outcome.
We do both. In growth estates like Jordan Springs and Ropes Crossing we build and upgrade alfresco and patio areas on newer, often smaller fenced blocks, working in with the existing home. On established homes in Penrith, St Marys and Emu Plains we retrofit pergolas and patios onto the house or over an existing slab. On the larger acreage blocks around Llandilo, Mulgoa and Castlereagh we build big freestanding patios, verandahs and carports. We design attached or freestanding to suit your block and how the structure needs to sit.
We build pergolas, patios, verandahs and carports right across Penrith and Western Sydney. That includes Penrith, Berkshire Park, Blaxland, Castlereagh, Emu Plains, Jordan Springs, Llandilo, Mulgoa, Orchard Hills, Ropes Crossing, St Marys and Warrimoo. From new estate alfresco areas to acreage structures on the rural fringe and homes in the Blue Mountains foothills, we cover the range of blocks across the region. Penrith is home for us, and it is also one of the hottest pockets in Sydney. The mercury hit 48.9C here on 4 January 2020, the highest temperature ever recorded across Greater Sydney, so a shaded, roofed outdoor area is a genuine comfort need rather than a luxury. Penrith Pergolas & Patios builds pergolas, patios, verandahs and carports for homes from the CBD near High Street and Westfield through to the established streets along the Nepean River. Whether you want an insulated patio roof that cuts radiant heat over an existing slab, or an open pergola for filtered afternoon shade, we build it to the right wind rating and arrange approvals where they are needed. Every job starts with a free, itemised on-site quote from Steve and our own experienced team.
Berkshire Park is semi-rural Penrith, where acreage and large blocks open the door to structures you simply cannot fit on a suburban lot. Big freestanding patios and verandahs, gable-roofed entertaining areas and generous carports all suit the space here. With the room to build away from the house, we can set structures to catch the breeze and shade the areas your family actually uses through Western Sydney's fierce summers. Penrith Pergolas & Patios builds these larger jobs to the right wind rating for the area, following an engineer's details and manufacturer span tables where required. We also cover vehicle, machinery and caravan shelter, which matters on a working rural block. Everything starts with a free, itemised on-site quote from Steve and our own team.
Blaxland sits in the foothills of the Blue Mountains, west of the Nepean along the Great Western Highway, and it is a different building environment to the Penrith flats. Sloping and bushland blocks are common, summers are still hot, and the area falls under Blue Mountains City Council rather than Penrith. Importantly, much of the lower mountains is bushfire-prone land, which can affect whether a structure qualifies as exempt development. Penrith Pergolas & Patios builds pergolas, patios, verandahs and carports here with those local conditions in mind, setting footings to suit sloping ground and building to the right wind rating. We advise on the approval pathway and can arrange engineering where required, but the certifier or council decides. Every job starts with a free, itemised on-site quote.
Castlereagh is semi-rural Penrith, a spread of large blocks and acreage on the eastern bank of the Nepean where there is room to build big. That space suits large freestanding patios, wrap-around verandahs, gable-roofed entertaining areas and generous carports for vehicles and machinery. Summers here are firmly in the hot Western Sydney basin, so shade is a real need, and open blocks call for structures built to the correct wind rating. Penrith Pergolas & Patios builds these larger jobs following an engineer's details and manufacturer span tables where required, and we set footings to suit the ground. Castlereagh sits within Penrith City Council, which we factor into any approval advice. Everything begins with a free, itemised on-site quote from Steve and our own experienced team.
Emu Plains sits just west of the Nepean River at the foot of the Blue Mountains, an established suburb of older homes on the Penrith rail line. Much of the work here is retrofitting a pergola or patio onto an existing house, or building over an established slab in a backyard that has been there for decades. Summers are hot, so shade is the priority, and a covered outdoor area turns a tired backyard into a room the family actually uses. Penrith Pergolas & Patios builds pergolas, patios, verandahs and carports that attach neatly to existing homes, fixed correctly to the fascia or wall and built to the right wind rating. Emu Plains sits within Penrith City Council, which we factor into approval advice. Every job starts with a free, itemised on-site quote.
Jordan Springs is one of Penrith's newer master-planned estates, a suburb of modern homes on tidy, fenced blocks where a fresh alfresco or patio is often the finishing touch a backyard needs. Many owners here want to add or upgrade an outdoor living area, matched to a new home and built to make a smaller yard work harder. Western Sydney summers are fierce, so shade is a genuine need even on a brand-new block. Penrith Pergolas & Patios builds pergolas, patios and verandahs that suit modern estate homes, attaching neatly and built to the right wind rating, with Colorbond colours chosen to match your build.
